Location Research

We thought of a plot before we organised the setting of the film, however we had an idea of where we wanted to location to be. Our location is going to be in one of the groups houses, this is so that it feels close to home for the audience and they will understand it better. This location is also easy to get to and quick for us to access, in addition to this if we make a mistake and ever need to re film it will be easy because we will be able to go back and have the same outfits etc. The film is about a little boy who has been abandoned, and therefore he is alone without his parents. We wanted the house to represent that he is alone, in addition the a location that would resemble normal life for example a real family's house.

Our location is similar to those in films such as The Ring and What Lies Beneath, both of these films were set in a house.

Both of these shots show the entire house, we want to do something similar in our film opening that resembles the house, and shows the audience that its where the film is going to be located. If we do a long shot, zooming in our getting closer to the house then it will represent that somebody is watching the house/ looking in, this creates tension and suspense for the audience, we were also thinking of using this for our first shot, this is because the location will give the audience an idea of what is going to happen and what the genre of the film is.
