Feedback on pitch

Me and my group presented our thriller opening pitch during our media class. We did this so that we could receive feedback from our film and see what we have done well and what we can improve before we start filming.

Strengths of our pitch;
Title;
The audience said that they liked the name of our film (Forsaken) this because it resembles the film and the story line very well, but doesn't give to much information away about the film. This is good because it makes people want to watch more after the opening.

Main character/ star;
The fact that the main star of the film is young, was seen as a positive aspect, this is because it shows vulnerability and makes the audience feel sympathy for the character. However, people also said that we need to find a way to represent the boys age.

Camera shots;
This was also seen as a positive aspect of our film, our camera shots represent the film well for example the shots we have used e.g. hand held camera and point of view shots create anxiety and make the audience feel tense, this also suits the films genre.

Things to improve;
Plot;  Even though we have planned the opening of our film in a lot of detail, we still have to organise/ think of what will happen in the rest of the film e.g. the middle and the ending/ what will happen to the main character. Although we won't get the see the rest of the film, it is a good idea to know what will happen.

Titles;
Our group need to make sure that our titles don't cover over moving images/ images when we present them in the film opening, this is so that we can see what is going on in the film and therefore the titles we be placed in places such as the corners of the images. This will give a good opening effect on the opening of the film.

Overall I am happy with the feedback we have received and we can use the information to improve our research and our plot.
