Preliminary Task- Conclusion

Overall I felt as if the Preliminary Task will help me when it comes to creating my thriller film opening. I feel as if I know more information about each element of creating a short film/ film opening for example I have learnt about camera work, editing, sound and mise en scene.I feel like I understand these elements and I will be more confident when it comes to my coursework.

During the filming of the our short film we used the extra 5 seconds rules before and after each shot we took, this is something I will use in the thriller coursework. In my short film we did not chose the thriller genre and therefore there was no suspense/ tension, however when it comes to my thriller coursework I will make sure to fit the genres with the film opening. The feedback from our teacher and our class mates was good, they enjoyed the short film and thought that it made sense and therefore overall I am happy with the outcome of our Preliminary task and feel like it has helped me a lot.
